in low-and-middle income countries experience Learning Poverty -- this means, they cannot read and understand a simple story by the time they finish primary school
127 million children and young people
living in crisis-affected countries were out of primary & secondary school in 2019 -- this is equivalent to almost half the global out-of-school population
1.3 billion children
aged 3 to 17 years old mostly from low-income countries and rural regions do not have internet connection at home -- this digital divide is perpetuating inequalities

COVID-19 Response
The Learning Passport platform has undergone rapid expansion to facilitate country-level curriculum for children and youth whose schools have been forced to close due to COVID-19. The platform will also provide key resources to teachers and educators.
