Where We Work

The Learning Passport was founded to address the challenges faced by millions of children and youth to access quality education due to disruptions caused by crises and displacement.

As an extraordinary emergency response to the global pandemic, the Learning Passport underwent rapid expansion to enable countries with a curriculum capable of being taught online to facilitate online learning. It is now live in 44 countries including Zimbabwe, Egypt, Mexico, Costa Rica, Sudan, Lao PDR, Nigeria, and Poland and 20+ countries are in various stages of the deployment process. Voices from Around the World

“Just as COVID-19’s impact has no borders, its solutions must not have borders, as it requires the collaboration across public and private sectors to ensure every student stays engaged and continues learning. UNICEF's Learning Passport is uniquely positioned as a scalable learning solution to bridge the digital learning gap for millions of students to bring their classroom into their home during the pandemic.”

Brad Smith

President of Microsoft

"We are looking at this as a great opportunity to reach children, both those affected by school closures and those who have never been registered in school. We are using this initiative as a springboard to leapfrog into the future as part of our plan to improve digital literacy and get children learning no matter where they live."
